Fed up with trying to get on top of IBS, feeling like nothing quite gets to the bottom of it? The bloating, the unpredictable bowel habits, the discomfort that can derail a day without warning — if this all sounds familiar, whether or not IBS has ever been formally diagnosed, it’s a genuinely common and often misunderstood picture.
We offer personalised nutritional therapy for people with IBS, taking the time to properly understand individual triggers, history and lifestyle. Personalised nutrition and lifestyle support can help restore comfort, confidence around food, and a much better quality of day-to-day life.

IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) affects millions, and its symptoms — bloating, tummy pain, wind, and unpredictable changes in bowel habits — vary considerably from person to person, which is exactly why generic advice so often falls short. Nutritional therapy focuses on identifying the individual root causes behind these symptoms, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, and building a personalised plan for lasting relief and long-term gut health.
IBS symptoms can stem from a number of different underlying factors, often overlapping — which is why a personalised approach makes such a difference:
Food triggers are often part of the IBS picture, but “allergy” and “intolerance” actually describe two quite different reactions, and it’s worth understanding which is which. A food allergy involves the immune system responding defensively to a specific food, often producing a fast reaction — skin flushing, swelling, itching — and only affects around 3% of people. A food intolerance is different: it doesn’t involve the immune system at all, and instead reflects a difficulty digesting a particular food, such as the inability to break down lactose in lactose intolerance. Intolerances are far more common, affecting an estimated 40% of people at some point in their life, and typically produce a delayed reaction — sometimes hours, occasionally as long as a week later — which is part of why they can be so tricky to pin down without proper testing.
Food intolerances are frequently linked to underlying gut health, since the gut lining is only a few cells thick and can become more permeable when compromised, allowing food particles to trigger a reaction they otherwise wouldn’t. Where testing points to specific trigger foods, the approach is to remove them for a period, allow the gut to settle, and then carefully reintroduce them one at a time — most people find they can tolerate a food again once it’s been removed for a while and isn’t then eaten to excess.

I first started seeing Emma after having suffered for 16 years with stomach problems that were getting worse and limiting my life. Doctors had done many tests and kept saying it was IBS but with Emma’s help we managed to identify exactly what the underlying issues were and identify a plan to rectify it. Years on I am still living pain free, and it’s been life changing. Emma has gone on to help me with fertility issues, supported me throughout my pregnancy and advised on the best nutrition for my baby. I can’t thank Emma enough and highly recommend anyone suffering to seek help and commit to the advice provided.
After my first meeting with Emma I walked out feeling like someone had really listened to me, really cared about me and what I had been dealing with for the past 5 years. The treatment was spread over a 6 month period and at times was difficult but month after month I could feel my body changing and now I have reached the end I feel like a completely new person. I have my life back!
