Understanding Pregnancy

What is nutritional therapy support during pregnancy, and how may it help you?

Pregnancy is a significant physiological period during which your body’s nutritional needs change considerably. Your medical care and monitoring throughout pregnancy sit outside nutritional therapy and should never be replaced by it.

Many people going through pregnancy are interested in how their everyday food choices, hydration and lifestyle habits might support their general wellbeing during this time. A personalised nutritional therapy approach looks at your individual picture and may help support your energy levels, nutritional balance and overall sense of wellbeing as your body changes.

Nutritional therapy is not a medical treatment, and we don’t claim to treat, cure or prevent medical conditions during pregnancy. What we offer is personalised nutrition and lifestyle support for your general wellbeing — using ordinary, accessible food and practical guidance.

After I had my son, my hormones changed a lot and my PCOS felt like it was getting worse. Once I started the programme I gradually began to feel more like myself again — with so much more energy. Emma was amazing.

Nutritional therapy is a complementary approach that supports general health and wellbeing. It does not replace individual medical assessment. Anyone currently taking prescribed medication should continue taking it as directed, and any changes should always be made through whoever prescribed it. Individual results vary and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.

Common questions

No — nutritional therapy isn’t a medical treatment or a cure, and we don’t claim to treat, cure or prevent medical conditions during pregnancy. What we can do is help you understand how your individual diet and lifestyle may be affecting how you feel, and build a personalised plan to support your general wellbeing.
We work in support of the medical care you are already receiving, never independently of it. Any recommendations we make can be shared as appropriate, and we always defer to medical guidance on what is suitable for your individual pregnancy.
We explore your current eating patterns, food preferences, any nausea or appetite changes you may be experiencing, and your general lifestyle. The aim is to build a realistic, personalised plan focused on supporting your general wellbeing — using ordinary, accessible food that works for you.
Yes. Many clients come to us with pre-existing health concerns as well as their pregnancy. Our support is focused on your general wellbeing — we don’t replace or alter the medical care you’re already receiving.
